I was fortunate enough to be one of the “paparazzi” in this event!! Get close enough to see (shoot them!!) some local celebrities such as Joanne Yeoh (Professional Vionlinist), Chris Yong (Fashion Stylist), Justin Chan (Actor&Music Producer), Blink Lau (DJ), Jaclyn Victor (recording Artist), Vince Chong (song composer), Jonathan Putra (TV Host, Producer, Broadcast Journalist), Sharon Lam (Professional Photographer) and Adrian Yap (Publisher).
These people were feature in THE STAR not long ago. One of my favorite articles by these local celebrities was from Sharon Lam, it was a story about how she got into photography. She was pursuing a business degree in Australia a final year student! This is what she said “I used to dream of studying at the Victorian College of Arts, a very prestigious school in Melbourne that is extremely difficult to get into. I applied, and, to my delight, was accepted! I was in a dilemma, though, as I was still doing my business course at the time and I had to decide if I wanted to continue or pursue photography. I chose photography, and have never looked back since.”
A woman than can earn a living from photography is considered remarkable!!! Imaging when we go out for outdoor shooting, carrying a few lens each weight about 800grams a body, 2 to 3 flash (each 600grams), HUGE tripod 4kg, and strobes!! Add up these stuff should be around 15kg or more. How would a woman carrying all this stuff walking around?! SALUTE!!
My favorites quote by Sharon Lam is “you cannot duplicate somebody else’s work.” I totally agree on this statement, copy does not make you a pro regardless what type of job you are doing!
Back to topic, I was surprise to met friends from photopintu forum too. They are really funny, haha… Another old sifu gave me some tips on how to shoot as well although it was just simple tips but it does helped a lot. Oh ya, there were so many hot chicks (models) that smile at us (these girls really enlighten our shooting session). I was paid to shoot at the walk way so no models picture to share for you guys. Sry~
IT WAS FUN!!!!!!!!!!!
